Rossini had strong ties to Spain, not least through his Spanish wife Isabella Colbran and Manuel García, his tenor and fellow composer, but also through his banker Alejandro Aguado. This programme is based on an interesting selection of Rossini pieces from his later years, which we presented in 2007.
