A mass by the Polish bel canto composer Moniuszko opens this atmospheric forest concert, performed by the Krakow Philharmonic mixed choir, brass band and French horn ensemble, as well as soloists from the festival. Surprising scenic and musical effects will enliven the forest on the Sommerberg, including several German premieres of pieces that Rossini conceived specifically as open-air numbers.
